Amish Project accessible performances this weekend!

posted by Kristen Link, Director of Education

On May 1st, City Theatre will offer open captioned and audio described performances of Jessica Dickey’s one-woman show, The Amish Project.  For audience members who are Deaf or who have experienced hearing loss, open captioning presents real-time dialogue and sound effects on a three-foot LED screen that is adjacent to the stage.  For audience members who are blind or have low vision, audio described performances provide descriptions visual elements of the show prior to the performance and of onstage action during the performance.

The Amish Project interweaves the stories of seven fictional individuals in response to the 2006 shootings in an Amish schoolhouse in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 412-431-CITY (2489).
